Returns & print quality

Last updated: August 2, 2026. This page explains when Fabryvox will reprint, refund, or decline a return for made-to-order 3D prints.

Overview

Every order is printed to your uploaded model and settings (material, infill, layer height). Because parts are custom-made, we do not accept returns for change-of-mind, unused prints, or preference (color shade, surface texture, or “I no longer need it”). We do stand behind workmanship and will fix or refund confirmed quality defects as described below.

Window to report an issue

Contact us within 14 days of delivery (or pickup notification) with your order ID, clear photos of the defect, and a short description. Requests after 14 days may be declined unless the issue is a latent manufacturing fault we can still verify.

What we cover (eligible)

  • Print failure or incomplete part — layer separation mid-print, missing sections, or a part that does not match the paid quantity.
  • Severe adhesion or delamination — large cracks between layers, or the part coming apart under normal handling when printed to the ordered settings.
  • Wrong material or settings vs order — we printed a different material, infill, or layer height than what you checked out with.
  • Shipping damage — crushed, cracked, or broken in transit when packaging failure is evident (photos of packaging and part required).
  • Gross dimensional error — measured critical features off by more than our stated tolerance (see Tolerances) when your STL was dimensionally correct.

What we do not cover (not eligible)

  • Change of mind, duplicate orders, or ordering the wrong file.
  • Issues caused by the uploaded model (non-manifold mesh, inverted normals, zero-thickness walls, interlocking solids that cannot print as a single piece).
  • Expected FDM artifacts: visible layer lines, minor stringing, elephant’s foot, small scars from support removal, or slight color variation between filament batches.
  • Fitment against third-party parts when your model or chosen shrinkage/tolerance was insufficient (we print to your geometry).
  • Damage from misuse, modification, improper storage, UV exposure, solvents, or loads beyond the material’s intended use.
  • Aesthetic preference (matte vs glossy, “not smooth enough”) when the print matches the ordered process.

Print quality & tolerances

Fabryvox uses FDM/FFF extrusion. Typical guidance for PLA/PETG at common layer heights:

  • Dimensional tolerance— approximately ±0.5 mm or ±0.5% of feature size (whichever is greater) on well-oriented features, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • Surface — layer lines are normal; smoother finishes may require different processes not included in standard checkout.
  • Warping / shrinkage — large flat parts, thin walls, and high-temp materials may warp. We will reprint if warping is severe relative to the ordered size and settings; mild corner lift on large plates is often expected.
  • Strength — FDM parts are anisotropic (weaker between layers). Orientation and infill affect strength; we do not guarantee engineering load ratings unless specified in a separate agreement.

How we resolve eligible issues

For approved claims we will, at our option: reprint the affected item(s), partially refund the line item, or fully refund the order. Refunds go to the original payment method (Stripe) within a reasonable processing time after approval. We may ask you to discard or return defective parts; return shipping for verified defects is covered by Fabryvox when we request the part back.

Cancellations

You may request cancellation before the order is marked printing or later in our queue. Once printing has started, the order is generally non-cancellable because material and machine time are committed. Contact us ASAP with your order ID if you need to stop an order.

How to contact us

Email mierosllc@gmail.com with subject line “Fabryvox return request”, your order ID, photos, and a short description. We typically respond within 2 business days.
